Sidpec Launches “Your Safety Matters to Us” Initiative to Enhance Occupational Safety in Alexandria

As part of the Presidential Initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building,” Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (Sidpec) launched the “Your Safety Matters to Us” initiative. This initiative aims to promote a culture of occupational safety and health among workers at operation and production sites across all companies in the Alexandria region.

The initiative was launched in the presence of Minister of Labor Mohamed Gibran, along with several chairmen of petroleum companies in the Alexandria region, as well as workers from petroleum sector companies in the governorate. Representatives from the Central Administration for Occupational Safety, Health, and Securing the Work Environment, along with directors from the Alexandria region, also attended the event.

With the participation of 17 companies, the initiative featured three awareness sessions that highlighted the health, safety, and environment (HSE) measures implemented by Sidpec in 2024 and underscored the importance of HSE practices.

The Chairman of Sidpec, Mohamed Ibrahim, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of educating workers across all companies on the application of HSE requirements to protect lives and ensure a safe working environment.

He urged them to put forth greater effort, commitment, and dedication to increase production, highlighting the company’s continuous efforts to achieve the highest levels of performance. Ibrahim reiterated the importance of protecting the environment, implementing occupational safety and health measures, providing necessary training for various job levels, and fostering awareness, knowledge, and skills essential for the successful implementation of the occupational safety and health management system and environmental protection initiatives.
