Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has met with Cederic Cremers, Shell International’s Executive Vice President of Global LNG, and Dalia El Gabry, VP and Country Chair, Shell Egypt.
The meeting reviewed the company’s activities and future plans in Egypt, particularly focusing on the intensification of its operations, especially in well development.
During the meeting, El Molla stated that Shell is a strategic partner in the petroleum sector and has been operating in Egypt for more than 110 years, during which it has achieved many successes.
El Molla congratulated the company on achieving two new discoveries, represented in Mina West and Khufu in the Mediterranean, and the preparations it is making to accelerate development processes.
Egypt has adopted a sustainable development strategy until 2030 and that work is underway to achieve its goals and overcome challenges, the minister noted.
For his part, Cremers indicated that the company is preparing to develop its strategy in Egypt and intensify its efforts in light of the research and exploration campaign it is currently conducting and its success in achieving the two important discoveries of Mina West and Khufu, in addition to developing the tenth and eleventh phases of the West Nile Delta deep project.
Cremers pointed to what Shell recently achieved in the areas of operational efficiency, security and safety, and the research and exploration campaign that lasted for more than 180 days, in addition to the efficient implementation of seismic survey programs.
Additionally, Cremers highlighted Shell’s full commitment to its operations in Egypt and expressed appreciation for the fruitful partnership between both sides. Shell intends to make more discoveries, increase production, and invest more in the coming period.
Cremers also expressed his gratitude for the efforts made by Egyptian petroleum sector companies in partnership with Shell in implementing projects.
