Shell Egypt Wins Best Health Standards Project, Best Digital Transformation Project Awards During EGYPS 2023

On the sidelines of EGYPS 2023 and in partnership with the Rashid Petroleum Company (Rashpetco) and the Egyptian Liquefied Natural Gas Company (ELNG), Shell succeeded in obtaining two awards. The first award was for the best project in terms of health standards for its adoption of health risk assessment in its risk management process through Rashpetco.

Shell also won the award for the best project in digital transformation, for its role in employing digitization to improve the performance of the gas and oils sector, whether in terms of reducing environmental damage or reducing material losses, through ELNG.

Meanwhile, Shell Egypt occupied a position among the members of the awards jury, represented by Frederick Phipps, General Manager of Rashpetco, and Amal El Sheikh, Chairwoman and Managing Director of Shell Lubricants Egypt. Shell Egypt also signed some memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on the sidelines of the conference, related to environmental sustainability and carbon reduction.

On the closing day of EGYPS 2023, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla witnessed the signing of a set of MoUs and joint cooperation agreements between the petroleum sector and a number of international companies within the framework of expanding partnerships and opening new horizons and opportunities for the Egyptian oil sector companies’ businesses and supporting digital transformation activities, environmental sustainability and carbon reduction.

Shell considers the Egyptian market a promising market full of various opportunities in the field of energy. Therefore, the company spares no effort to take advantage of all the opportunities offered by the government to the private sector, so it operates according to a flexible strategy commensurate with the changes taking place in the world, in terms of providing what the local market needs, and exporting the surplus abroad to maximize the added value, through its investments as a leading company in the field of energy, Shell Egypt’s Vice President and Country Chair Khaled Kacem, stated.

It is worth noting that Shell Egypt participated in four discussion sessions during Egyps2023; One of them was held on the sidelines of the strategic conference, with the participation of Cedric Creamers, Executive Vice President of Shell International for LNG Projects, which discussed the increasing global demand for natural and liquefied gas and its high prices. The second session came on the sidelines of the Equality in Energy” conference with the participation of Ahmed Farid, Regional Director of Human Resources at Shell, in addition to participating in a session at the “Sustainability in the Energy” conference in which Dr. Yasser Hassan, Director of the Environment and Safety Department at Shell, participated.
