The Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Shaker, met with a delegation from the African Development Bank (AfDB) to discuss the bank’s to support of Egypt energy sector, Amwal Al Ghad reports.
Shaker praised the work of AfDB in Egypt, noting that the funds from the bank are critical in fostering financial support, sustainable energy, and a good business climate.
Firms in the electricity sector have received approximately EGP 37.4 billion from domestic banks to implement the government’s electricity transmission and distribution plan, he noted. He went on to say that the ministry is working on mechanisms and policies to boost private sector and clean energy investments.
