On the sidelines of COP28, the Suez Canal Economic Zone General Authority’ (SCZONE) Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dein has met with several major companies to discuss cooperation in green hydrogen during the opening of the authority’s pavilion activities in the green zone.
Gamal El-Dein has met with representatives from ACWA Power company to discuss the ways of activating memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the company and accelerating the progress of needed studies for the project.
The chairman also met with the Managing Partner and CEO of A.P. Moller Capital Kim Fejfer showcasing how to cooperate in the field of funding green hydrogen projects. Additionally, he held a meeting with a Member of the Executive Board of Directors of Wilo SE A, Georg Weber, tackling discussions on how to cooperate in the field of manufacturing water pumps to supply the major projects.
Furthermore, the SCZONE has participated in a session entitled “Green Hydrogen… from Advertising to Investment,” inside the Egyptian Pavilion in the Blue Zone to discuss ways to support governmental actors and international institutions for green fuel projects through legislation and financing.
The session touched on the SCZONE’s keenness to provide the needed infrastructure to establish these projects and work on an investment incentive package dedicated to green energy projects to encourage investment. It addressed the importance of financial and legislative support for green economy activities.
