Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman was in talks with the Chinese President Xi Jinping about a deal for a refining and petrochemical complex in China, Reuters reported.
The deal was part of the Asian tour by the Saudi delegation, including top executives from state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco.
“China is a good friend and partner to Saudi Arabia,” President Xi Jinping told the Saudi crown prince during a press conference.
“The Silk Road initiative and China’s strategic orientation are very much in line with the kingdom’s Vision 2030,” Bin Salman said referring to Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification strategy.
Bilateral trade increased by 32% last year, according to the Saudi crown prince.
