Saudi Arabia Sells Crude to Belarus for First Time

Belarus’s state refiner Beleneftkhim has purchased its first batch of crude from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to Reuters.

Belarus, which has long since relied on Russian oil imports, has bought 80,000 tonnes of Arab Light crude oil from Saudi Aramco in May. The oil tanker Ionic Astrapi loaded crude on April 27 and is forecast to arrive on May 11. The oil will be delivered to the port of Klaipeda.

Speaking to Reuters, Belneftekhim announced that it was the first tanker of Arab oil and that further cooperation with Saudi Arabia will depend on the market situation.

The oil will be delivered to refineries by rail.
