Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla announced that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will inaugurate the sixth session of the Egypt International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (EGYPS 2023), which will be held under the theme ‘North Africa and The Mediterranean: Supporting Sustainable Global Energy Supply and Demand’, the ministry said in a statement.
The inauguration will take place in the presence of high-level energy and petroleum ministers from a number of countries around the world, secretaries-generals of regional and international energy organizations, and heads of international energy, oil, and gas corporations, who will participate in EGYPS as a leading regional energy conference.
El Molla chaired the third meeting of the Supreme Organizing Committee of EGYPS 2023 in the presence of members of the Executive Committee, which includes heads of local and international oil companies sponsoring the conference and officials from dmg events which is organizing the conference. He followed up on the final arrangements and preparations for the event.
During the press conference held after the meeting of the Supreme Committee of the conference, El Molla stated that El Sisi’s keenness to attend and open the conference comes within the framework of the priority he gives to the energy sector, especially since the oil and gas sector has succeeded in realizing the state’s ambitions to turn Egypt into a regional hub for energy circulation and trade.
Moreover, El Molla announced that the petroleum sector will present 13 new agreements to the Parliament for oil and gas exploration with international companies, which includes a minimum of $650 million in investments, after yesterday’s approval by the Cabinet and the initial signing with the companies. It will include research in the Mediterranean, Western Desert, and the Gulf of Suez regions.
