Positive Signs for Egyptian Economy as Dollar Demand Declines

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has participated in a ministerial economic meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly who announced positive indications for the dollar flow in the Egyptian market.

At the beginning of the meeting, Madbouly noted the importance of regularly monitoring economic issues in cooperation with the Central Bank, in addition to the results of some decisions that have been taken lately.

Madbouly stated that the demand for dollars started to decline in light of the wide availability provided by the bank and the speedy release of goods from customs in recent days.

Additionally, the meeting witnessed a review of the executive steps and procedures for financial and monetary economic reform, which were agreed upon and determined by the state in its program with the International Monetary Fund, especially those related to rationalizing government investments, containing inflation, and reducing the size of debt.
