Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed the government’s determination to continue working on regularly paying periodic installments of oil producing companies’ arrears.
He also encouraged these companies to continue their exploration and production activities in a way that serves the state’s plan to advance the wheel of production in this vital sector without obstacles.
This came while he was reviewing the results of his visit to the Zohr natural gas field at north of Port Said, to follow up on the activities of the Zohr drilling rig “Saipem 10000” after its return to the site, marking the resumption of drilling and exploration work in the field.
Madbouly expressed his appreciation for the strategic partnership between the Egyptian government and Italian energy giant Eni.
He highlighted that the resumption of work at the site enhances the country’s plans which aims at continuing drilling and exploration activities in a way that contributes to enhancing oil and gas production capacities to meet local and regional demand.
In turn, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi discussed the arrangements for holding the eighth edition of the Egypt Energy Show Conference and Exhibition (EGYPES 2025) under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi which will be held from February 17 to 19.
He noted that this event represents a major platform for global dialogue on energy and industry progress, as the current edition witnesses the signing of a number of important agreements in the petroleum sector, especially in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy, which supports cooperation frameworks and enhances Egypt’s pivotal role as a regional energy hub.
