PM, Petroleum Minister Meeting Focuses on Fuel Reserves for Electricity

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has met with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, and Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk to review the progress of preparing strategic fuel reserves needed for operating power stations.

This came within the framework of a governmental plan to end electricity load reduction during the third week of July.

The spokesman of the Cabinet said that meeting witnessed discussions on the plan of composing strategic reserves of fuel which include increasing the strategic reserves of mazut and diesel.

He noted that the Ministry of Finance will be responsible for providing the necessary funds to buy the required petroleum products to stop electricity load reduction plan adding that the needed reserves will be completed by the next week.
