On the second day of EGYPES 2025, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a roundtable discussion titled “Transforming Egypt’s Energy Future” at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Madbouly stated, “We were very eager to hold this roundtable to present various opinions and trends on current and future energy issues, in addition to reviewing and discussing the opportunities offered by this promising sector in Egypt, as well as presenting your plans to invest in this sector in the coming period.”
The prime minister added that the government aims to provide a more attractive investment environment for the energy sector through reform, emphasizing the importance of synergy and cooperation between the government and business representatives to ensure effective transformation in the energy sector.
Madbouly also hosted a Leadership Circle Roundtable to discuss the transformation of Egypt’s energy sector. The goal of the roundtable was to balance the production and consumption of low-carbon oil and gas with investments in renewable energy sources, hydrogen, power generation, and energy efficiency. These efforts aim to foster a low-carbon growth economy that is appealing to investors.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat contributed valuable insights as they engaged in ongoing discussions with key stakeholders on February 18th.
