PetroShorouk Company is continuously intensifying its exploration activities at Shorouk Concession in order to confirm the discovered reserves in line with the construction works in the onshore and offshore facilities of the project, speed up production, and reach the target production rate before end of fiscal year (FY) 2017/2018, said Head of Petrobel Atef Hassan, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The company succeeded in the natural gas field during FY 2017/2018 as it is contributing in kickstarting operation of Zohr natural gas field, Atef said during the company’s general assembly chaired by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, to review the company’s budget plans.

“The employees working on Shorouk project are aware of the responsibilities on the oil and gas sector to support the country’s plans to boost economic growth and secure the country’s natural gas needs,” he added.

El Molla pointed out that “the partners commitment to time-frames and plans to develop natural gas fields in the Mediterranean Sea stems from their confidence in the Egyptian oil and gas sector and historic ties between them, which are governed by economic basics and aimed at mutual benefits.”
