PetroSafe Carries Out Maneuver to Combat Marine Pollution in West Port Said Port

Petroleum Safety and Environmental Services Company (PetroSafe), in partnership with the Suez Canal Authority and the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), implemented the strategic practical experiment on combating marine oil pollution (Masr El Mahrousa 19) on June 6th, 2023, in West Port Said port.

This comes within the framework of the annual plan to operate the marine and river pollution control centers owned by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), which is managed through Petrosafe.

The maneuver achieved all of its main objectives in terms of coordination and cooperation with all state agencies in managing oil spill crises in West Port Said port.

Moreover, the maneuver achieved good coordination between each of the Petrosafe Company and the Suez Canal Authority in implementing contingency plans and relevant legislation in facing oil spill accidents. Additionally, it helped Petrosafe test its ability to mobilize and line up a large number of its personnel and equipment from all control centers and transfer them to the maneuver implementation area in record time.

During the maneuver, all attendees praised the high quality technical expertise of all participants as well as their effective organization while the activities were taking place.
