Wintershall Dea Intensifies E&P Activities in Egypt

The Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, discussed future cooperation with Wintershall Dea to intensify the exploration and production (E&P) activities in the Egyptian sedimentary basins, Egypt Oil & Gas reported.

The discussion took place as El Molla welcomed Wintershall Dea company’s COO and Deputy CEO, Maria Hanssen, the company’s CFO, Paul Smith, and the company’s Managing Director Egypt, Sameh Sabry, in the presence of Ashraf Farag, First Undersecretary for Agreements and Exploration at the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum.

The meeting reviewed the E&P agreement that was signed in March with DEA for the Ras Budran and El Zeit Bay oil fields in the Gulf of Suez.

The company’s projects in Egypt were discussed during the meeting as a result of the merger between Wintershall and Dea companies to form one of the biggest companies in the petroleum field.

Hansen praised the ministry’s efforts and its continued support which encouraged the company to expand its activities in Egypt and increase its investments in all different regions.
