Approximately 149.8 million tons of petroleum products and natural gas has been transported during the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018/19, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Al Ahram reported.
The total of the transported petroleum products via pipelines has increased by 0.2% and was estimated at 55.5 million tons during FY 2018/19 compared to 55.4 million tons in FY 2017/18. As for natural gas, approximately 63.8 billion cubic meters (bcm) were transported in FY 2018/19. Additionally, 61.3 bcm were allocated to the local market, while 2.5 bcm were allocated towarexporting, with an average cost of EGP 0.03 per cubic meter.
It should be noted that during FY 2018/19, the total cost of transportation for natural gas was estimated at EGP 1.9 billion, whereas petroleum products’ transportation cost was estimated at EGP 21.9 billion.
