Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Sebastian Reyes, Schneider Electric President for Northeast Africa and the Arab Levant, on the sidelines of ADIPEC 2024.
During the meeting, they reviewed the company’s joint projects with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR), especially the project of establishing a Strategic Command Center for the petroleum sector in the Ministry of Petroleum headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Badawi elaborated that the meeting tackled how to boost the means of cooperation in digitalization in the oil and gas industry as Schneider Electric is currently contributing in implementing the Egyptian petroleum sector’s plans for digital transformation, which help raising the efficiency of operational processes.
In addition, they discussed how to enhance cooperation to use digital technologies in the field of measuring, monitoring, and controlling emissions.
For his part, Sebastian explained that Egypt is one of the strategic markets for Schneider Electric’s plans for growth and expansion in the region. He also pointed out that Schneider Electric’s plant has obtained the “Zero Carbon Emissions” certificate, which confirms the company’s commitment to sustainability and implementing innovative solutions in its operations.
