Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla visited the National Control Center for the National Natural Gas Network (NATA).
He monitored the operational status of the network and ensured the regular supply and distribution of natural gas and fuel to the main consumption sectors, particularly focusing on the electricity sector for power generation and factories.
Additionally, the minister examined the procedures followed to provide supplies and the requirements for increasing consumption of natural gas and fuel in light of the rising temperatures that the country is witnessing.
During the minister’s tour, scenarios for operating the national natural gas network were reviewed.
During the visit, El Molla held an expanded meeting in the presence of the presidents of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO), which operates the National Control Center.
The meeting reviewed the projects planned to strengthen and raise the efficiency of the national natural gas network as an artery for transporting natural gas and supplying it to consumers throughout the country, which comes within the framework of the ministry’s strategy to sustainably secure gas supplies to consumers in the local market.
Moreover, the meeting tackled efforts to optimally exploit the infrastructure of natural gas networks and facilities, and work to maximize their use in receiving and trading gas within the framework of regional expansion plans and infrastructure investment.
