Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla inspected the workflow and operation of the Alexandria National Refining and Petrochemicals Company (ANRPC).
The refinery is implementing a number of projects to raise efficiency, improve performance and operational capabilities, reduce carbon emissions, as well as preserve the environment and rationalize consumption.
This was part of a tour of projects within the Alexandria Governorate’s petroleum geographical area.
El Molla highlighted the importance of the projects that were recently established at the ANRPC refinery. They include improving the efficiency of production units, as well as establishing an industrial wastewater treatment unit (ZLD) that recycles and uses that water. The projects further include the use of surplus hydrogen-rich gases as fuel for boiler furnaces through a new device that has been added recently, instead of natural gas, which can be used in many other activities.
The minister and the audience listened to a presentation by Salah Gaber, the company’s chairman, on the development of the refinery’s production rates of gasoline which contribute to covering a large part of the local consumption of high-octane benzene 92/95.
Gaber also reviewed the positive results achieved due to the new projects that were inspected.
