Petrofac Wins EPCC Contract for Natural Gas Plant in Malaysia

Petrofac announced that it has secured a contract with Petronas Carigali Sdn, a subsidiary of Petronas, for developing the new Bintulu Additional Gas Sales facilities 2 (BAGSF-2) located onshore at Tanjung Kidurong.

This agreement to do Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) work is worth $96 million. Greenfield development efforts will include a process and utilities unit, an effluent treatment unit, a metering skid, a fire water tank, pumps, a flare system and a main substation building.

Also, the contract involves brownfield work with the existing Petronas plant which is located also in Bintulu.

In this regard, Petrofac COO Nick Shorten said: “We have been working closely with PETRONAS since 2004, using our broad services capability and expertise to support the development of Malaysia’s energy infrastructure. The contract will be delivered by Petrofac Group’s local subsidiary, Petrofac Engineering Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, with engineering support from Petrofac-RNZ and local supply chain and subcontractors, further underpinning our commitment to local delivery.”
