The Paper Manufacturing Division at the Egyptian Chamber of Chemical Industries asked the Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of Industry to double the amount of gas pumped for paper factories without increasing prices, reported Al Borsa.
The government has proclaimed that unused gas should not be calculated; however, paper factories are still suffering from price duplication, according to the Head of Paper Division, Mohamed Gamal El Deen.
The Division submitted a note for the Cabinet including copies of gas supply contracts and a list of demands signed by the factories in concern.
The Head of the Chamber of Chemical Industries at the Industrial Union, Sherif El Gabaly, had filed a legal suit against the price increase as Petrotrade requested arrears payment worth millions of pounds from several factories.
This comes in line with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company’s (EGAS) declination of increase in amount of gas supplied despite rise in factories’ production capacity.
