Some Omani private sector companies signed on Wednesday an agreement to establish a $45 million oil wellheads plant in Oman.
The plant, to be located in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, will have an annual production capacity of 300 wellheads.
Through this project Oman aims to reduce dependence on external imports, secure local supply chains, and ensure an internal quality control system.
The plant will be implemented in three phases: The first phase involves the initial infrastructure, equipment, and production lines to operate wellhead components.
And the second phase includes expanding production capacity with the introduction of advanced heat treatment processes and initial forging. While, the third phase focuses on the full advancement of the process, including forging, heat treatment, and to start commercial operation in 2027.
