Oman Reaches 8 bcm of Natural Gas Imports, Total Domestic Production

Oman has reached 8.39 billion cubic meters (bcm) of total domestic production and import of natural gas until the end of February 2024, a 2% decline from the same period last year, when the total at that time reached 8.56 bcm.

Statistics showed that industrial projects accounted for 68.2% of natural gas uses in the Sultanate of Oman until the end of February 2024, where uses for industrial projects amounted to 5.722.300 bcm. Additionally, Industrial regions acquired 43.600 million cubic meters (mmcm).

Moreover, oil fields and power plants’ total usage of natural gas have amounted to 1.523.900 bcm and 1.98.100 bcm respectively.

Notably, the non-associated production of natural gas, including imports, amounted to 6.717.300 bcm, while the associated production amounted to 1.670.500 bcm.
