The National Renewable Energy Resources (NREA) prepares to link 1,465 megawatts (MW) solar to the national grid of electricity in October, according to Amwalalghad.
The ratio of the solar stations implemented as part of the tariff program exceeded 96% at the end of September, NREA’s official source said.
Moreover, the official source pointed out that the Ministry of Electricity plans to finalize the tariff program in Q4 2019 to support the government’s orientations towards renewable resources.
In addition, the source noted that the project’s total cost ranges between $2-3 billion, stressing that the implementation process of the project is steadily moving towards finalizing the stations according to the implementation requirements.
It is worth mentioning that the government has increasing hopes that Benban project will contribute to supporting the renewable energy strategy and will generate around 20% of alternative sources by 2020.
