MRMIA Sets October 16 Deadline for Bids on Two Gold Blocks

Egypt’s Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority (MRMIA) has set October 16, 2026, as the deadline for bidding on the gold blocks DC69 to FG62, according to an announcement by the authority on October 11.

The authority said the deadline would be extended to the first subsequent working day if it coincided with a public holiday.

It also announced that all talc ore blocks were closed on September 10.

The latest bidding comes as Egypt seeks to attract investment into its mining sector through an open-block licensing system launched on June 10.

The system allows companies to submit offers for exploration opportunities without waiting for conventional bidding rounds, with a 30-day competitive bidding period beginning once the first offer is received for a block.
