The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) launched the Process Safety Management Foundation (PSM) Training Program in cooperation with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), and the Engineering for Petroleum and Process Industries (Enppi).
The program aims at qualifying the trainees on applying best practices in process safety management at the oil and gas sector.
The commencement event was held at Enppi’s training center, and witnessed by Moataz Atef, MoPMR Undersecretary for Minister Office and Technical Office and Official Spokesperson; Wael Lotfy Moustafa, Enppi’s Chairman; Iman Wafy , EGPC Chairman Assistant for Information Technology and Telecommunication; and various petroleum sector leaders and companies chairmen.
It is worth noting that Enppi is certified and accredited from The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), a reputable and benchmark institution in accrediting and auditing of process safety training programs.
Caring for the human element is one of the Ministry’s most important priorities, based on the belief in their important and vital role, both now and in the future, Atef noted.
Atef further stated that two phases have been implemented so far in the process of benefiting from the experiences gained by trainees in the middle management program, as the phase included assigning 15 assistants to the sector’s leaders, while 16 assistants were assigned in the second phase, and preparations are currently underway for the third phase.
