MoPMR First Undersecretary Inspects Progress of Hazard Prevention Training Center in Al-Sokhna

The First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Alaa El Batal conducted an inspection tour to a hazard prevention and management training center established by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) at the operation site of the Red Sea National Petrochemicals Company in Ain Al-Sokhna to follow up about its establishment.

The school will provide the theoretical and practical training services in the field of safety and risk management for all employees of oil companies and contracting companies.

The school is supposed to use the latest global technologies used in the field of training, such as simulation model technologies.

At the end of the visit, El Batal stressed the importance of continuing periodic follow-up of the project and combining all efforts to ensure achieving the desired goals of establishing the school and the necessity of adhering to the specified timetable to complete the remaining works and open the school on time in accordance with international standards.

It is noteworthy that the school is the first of its kind in the petroleum sector and was established based on a memorandum of understanding signed between the MoPMR and the international companies bp and Bechtel in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and Petrojet as a pioneer in providing training services in the field of safety and risk management at the highest standards to advance the safety system.

MoPMR also plans to repeat the experience of establishing this school in a number of petroleum geographical areas across the country, similar to the Ain Al-Sokhna School, to raise the efficiency of safety performance in all petroleum sites.
