The Net International Reserves (NIR) increased to $40.91 billion at the end of November 2021, compared to $40.85 billion in October 2021, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) disclosed.

Egypt’s annual headline inflation rate has recorded 5.6% in November 2021, compared to 6.3% in October 2021, the CBE stated.

Egyptian exports jumped by 36.6% to $3.45 billion in September 2021, compared to $2.53 billion during the same month in 2020, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Egypt’s trade deficit decreased by 22.5% to $2.39 billion during September 2021, compared to $3.08 billion during the same month in 2020, CAPMAS announced.

The total Egyptian exports to the Nile River basin countries rose by increasing by 33.7% reaching $1.12 billion during the first nine months of 2021, compared to $0.835 billion during the same period of 2020, CAPMAS revealed.

The Suez Canal revenues recorded a growth rate of 20% in Q1 2021/22 compared to Q1 2020/21, IDSC declared.

Egypt and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) signed agreements to pump EUR 50 million for development and modernization work on Cairo’s underground metro rapid transit system, the Ministry of International Cooperation (MOIC) announced.

The new financing package for France to support Egypt’s development reached EUR 1.76 billion, divided between EUR 776 million funded by France’s treasury and EUR 990 million provided by the AFD, MOIC announced.

The current economic cooperation portfolio between Egypt and France reached EUR 7.5 billion in various sectors, MOIC stated.
