Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi held a meeting with the Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad discussing the integration between the two ministries in the fields of emissions reduction and the latest developments of the petroleum companies’ efforts for emissions reduction and comply with environmental requirements.
During the meeting, Egypt’s full commitment to international treaties to preserve the climate and environment, reduce carbon emissions, and the importance of modern technologies in implementing oil and gas production targets with the least possible impact on the environment were emphasized.
In addition, the meeting addressed the development of a roadmap to continue implementing emission reduction projects in various petroleum sector companies with specific timetables, taking into account the needs and conditions of various petroleum work sites, as well as reviewing the efforts of the petroleum sector during the past period in implementing campaigns to measure emission levels.
