Minister of Petroleum Meets with IPR Delegation to Discuss Expansion Plans and Sustainability Initiatives

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, held a meeting with a delegation from IPR, led by the company’s Chairman, Mahmoud Dabbous. The discussions focused on the status and progress of IPR’s operations in its concession areas in the Western Desert and the Gulf of Suez.

The meeting also covered strategies to boost oil and gas production rates and initiatives for the development of brownfields.

During the meeting, the parties explored opportunities for the company to expand its exploration and research activities through this year’s international bid round, which features 12 new areas in the Mediterranean and the Nile Delta.

They also discussed how the company could leverage additional investment opportunities in exploration and production within the open areas offered through the Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG).

Additionally, Mahmoud Dabbous provided an update on the company’s operational status, highlighting its drilling and development programs in concession areas across Abu Rawash, Beni Suef, and Fayoum. He emphasized the use of modern technical methods to enhance oil reserves and boost production rates.

Dabbous also reviewed the company’s initiatives to reduce emissions by adopting natural gas as an alternative to diesel and mazut in electricity generators, a strategy that not only supports environmental sustainability but also lowers production costs.
