Minister of Investment Discusses Green Energy Initiatives with Key Industry Players

Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El Khatib, met with Hesham Sheta, Managing Partner of Income Company, the Egyptian partner of the Chinese company CSCEC, along with several investors from the green energy sector. The discussion focused on exploring new investment opportunities aimed at fostering sustainable economic development in Egypt.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the review of the Atlas Project, which seeks to establish a state-of-the-art complex of global data centers powered entirely by renewable energy. This initiative will be bolstered by a dedicated solar power plant, marking a pivotal step in enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure while attracting investments in both technology and clean energy sectors.

Additionally, the meeting covered the Rosetta Minerals Project, an integrated initiative designed for the processing and manufacturing of kaolin sands. This project aims to advance the industrial sector by increasing the added value of local natural resources, ultimately boosting local production and exports. Such efforts are expected to support economic growth and elevate the global competitiveness of Egyptian products.

The Minister also reviewed plans for a dry bulk and general cargo handling project at Ain Sokhna Port, further emphasizing the government’s dedication to fostering a robust investment climate.

El Khatib reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting investments in renewable energy and digital infrastructure. He highlighted Egypt’s abundant natural resources, particularly high-quality white sand, which presents significant opportunities for manufacturing industries and export enhancement.

Furthermore, El Khatib stressed the importance of localizing the clean energy industry in Egypt, noting ongoing efforts to boost local production of essential components, including solar glass panels and other materials vital for renewable energy facilities.
