Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla launched Phase 2 of the training program for the mining sector’s workers, according to a press release.
In cooperation with the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA), Enppi will implement the program for 110 participants. The program offers several benefits for its participants in addition to a focused program on the economics of the mining industry.
This came during a virtual meeting with the selected participants in Phase 2. El Molla stressed that investment in human resources in the mining sector is now an imperative necessity as they are the main pillar for the development of the mining sector. The program aligns with Egypt 2030 vision for sustainable development and the ministry’s strategy to develop the mining sector and increase its contribution to the national economy.
El Molla added that the program of developing mining sector was an asset to reforming the legislative and investment aspects of the sector, adding that its results will polarize during the coming period, especially after amending the mining law and issuing its new executive regulations. In light of these changes, a new gold bid round was launched; creating a new investment climate for the mining sector.
He noted that the investment climate is flourishing after the success of economic reforms, pointing out to the importance of completing the digital geological maps project and relying on digital solutions in promoting investment within the mining sector.
