MIDOR Expansion Project Records 20M Working Hours

Collaborative efforts in the Middle East Oil Refinery’s (MIDOR) expansion project succeeded in achieving 20 million working hours without interruption or injuries.

This came as Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, witnessed a presentation by Technip Energies about the project’s achievements among the most important indicators of which was the implementation of 27 project review processes. This is in addition to the knowledge transfer that happened at various stages during the MIDOR project for ANOPEC in Assiut, which is being implemented by Technip Energies.

The project’s achievements further included laying 1,861 km of cables, using more than 12,000 tons of steel and about 20,000 tons of equipment, and completing 1,675,000 engineering work hours to produce 12,400 engineering documents and designs.

El Molla highlighted the importance of what the Egyptian and Italian sides provided, in terms of financing agencies and companies, in terms of cooperation, coordination and implementation.

The minister praised the Italian side for its fruitful cooperation which it provides in light of the solid relations between the two countries and their political leadership.

El Molla drew attention to what Egypt has accomplished and is implementing in terms of national oil projects with international partners, such as Eni, bp, and Technip Energies and other international companies, which operate in many countries around the world and are interested in transferring expertise and technologies in their work sites.
