Madbouly Reviews Oil, Gas Investment Opportunities with Petroleum, Finance Ministers

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has held a meeting with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi and Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk.

In the meeting, Madbouly reviewed the investment opportunities available in the oil, gas and mining sectors.

Badawi confirmed during the meeting that the coming period will witness the implementation of incentive measures to increase the production of oil and natural gas, as well as the refining of petroleum products.

These incentives will be implemented in parallel with working to promote new investment opportunities in the oil and gas sectors and exploration for rare metals, presenting a map of these investment opportunities, Badawi noted.

The meeting also reviewed the development of natural gas production, consumption and import rates during the period from 2014 until now, and plans to increase production expected by 2030.

Moreover, the meeting witnessed Kouchouk presenting the plan to provide the necessary financial allocations to the petroleum sector, especially with regard to providing the petroleum products required to stop the plan to reduce electricity loads.
