Madbouly Reviews Egypt-China Cooperation Files

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired the meeting of the “Ministerial Committee for the China Unit”, in the presence of Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy;  Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance; and Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment.

The meeting reviewed bilateral cooperation files between Egypt and China, the most important of which is the volume of trade exchange, which reached $18 billion during the year 2022, and also the volume of investments, which amounted to $8 billion, through 2,066 companies with Chinese contributions.

The companies include 141 companies in the industrial, service, administrative, and commercial sectors, with more than $2.5 billion in exported capital, and more than 10,000 job opportunities created until the end of June 2023.

The projects include cooperation in the field of developing industrial and logistics areas, green hydrogen production, and the field of heavy industries, as well as investment in petrochemical projects, travel services, hotel investments, and tourism programs that attract tourists from China. This is in addition to cooperation in the areas of keeping up with technological developments, as well as cultural, development, and research cooperation.
