Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting with government officials to discuss solutions to power outages implemented as part of an initiative to reduce electricity load.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, Chairman of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) Gaber Desouki, Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) Yassin Mohamed, and several officials from the concerned authorities.
At the beginning of the meeting, Madbouly confirmed that the government is well aware of the extent of the challenge and that various relevant agencies are working to promptly end the current crisis.
In this context, Madbouly drew attention to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to quickly work to end the power outage crisis by taking decisions to reduce the periods of power outages.
The meeting witnessed a review of a number of measures that were immediately implemented, contributing to mitigating the issue and finding a final solution.
Madbouly is scheduled to make a television statement later today about the problem and the government’s plan to confront it.
