The Libyan National Oil Company (NOC) and the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) have denied reports of the closure of the Harika oil port in the east of the country due to protests, The Libyan Observer reported.

A joint statement issued on October 19 stressed that the reports circulated are false. The NOC and AGOCO also insisted on the importance of keeping the oil sector separate from political conflicts.
