The Libyan Government of National Accord will provide each household with an extra $500 in subsidies cards starting from July 2018, Sputnik reported.
Libyan central bank governor Saddek Omar Elkaber said that the measure aims to protect households as it begins to lift fuel subsidies in an attempt to contain smugglers.
The Libyan government is also planning to fix the dollar price for 4.50 Libyan dinar for all traders.
