The Libyan navy detained an oil tanker on suspicions of smuggling, Reuters reports.
The Liberian-flagged tanker and its Filipino crew were detained on August 27th off the Abu Kamash coast west of Tripoli. The crew members were then transported to Tripoli for questioning, GMA News reports.
A spokesman for the navy, Ayoud Qassem, noted that the tanker “is a Greek-owned company tanker,” according to Reuters.
