Lebanon Extends Deadline for Second Licensing Round

The Lebanese Petroleum Association (LPA) has extended the deadline for submissions of the second licensing Round applications to April 30, according to a press release.

The Ministery of Energy announced in April 2019 that blocks 1, 2, 5, 8 and 10 are open to receive bids in the round. The initial bidding rounds were won by a consortium of France’s Total, Italy’s Eni and Russia’s Novatek for blocks 4 and 9 back in 2018.

Once the Applications are received for the new deadline, the LPA will evaluate the Prequalification Applications. The results of this evaluation will then be declared by the ministry before proceeding with the evaluation of exploration and production agreement (EPA) applications.
