Kuwait Oil Tanker to Increase LNG Tankers

Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) aims to expand its fleet by adding eight liquified natural gas (LNG), crude, and petroleum tankers to its fleet by early 2021, Pipeline Oil and Gas News reported.

This was announced during the naming ceremony of KOTC’s two liquified petroleum gas (LPG) carriers built by Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries Company (HHI), as part of a modernization drive to fulfill the demand from Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC).

The new tankers ordered include three giant LNG tankers by HHI and four medium oil tankers by Hyundai Mipo Drydocks, the Kuwaiti company said.

In addition, one very large crude carrier will be built by China’s Bohai Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries.
