KOTC to Expand Fleet

Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) plans to expand its fleet by eight tankers, KUNA reports.

The new vessels are part of the company’s 2020 modernization plan, according to the state-run news agency.

The vessels will be utilized for different purposes: three will be for liquefied natural gas (LNG), four will be for petroleum products, and one will be for crude, the newspaper reports.

KOTC has a fleet of 28 vessels at present, but two of the ships will be retired by 2020, according to KUNA.

Hyundai Merchant Marine will build three of the LNG tankers, a company official said, KUNA reports.
