Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) plans to expand its fleet by eight tankers, KUNA reports.
The new vessels are part of the company’s 2020 modernization plan, according to the state-run news agency.
The vessels will be utilized for different purposes: three will be for liquefied natural gas (LNG), four will be for petroleum products, and one will be for crude, the newspaper reports.
KOTC has a fleet of 28 vessels at present, but two of the ships will be retired by 2020, according to KUNA.
Hyundai Merchant Marine will build three of the LNG tankers, a company official said, KUNA reports.
