Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) signed a strategic research and development (R&D) cooperation agreement with Kuwait University, Pipeline Oil and Gas Magazine reported.

The five-year agreement aims to enhance mutual cooperation between KOC and the university in the field of reservoirs, heavy oil, natural gas, as well as to exchange technology, research and development.

Nayef Abdullah Al-Enzi, the Executive Vice President for Drilling and Technology in KOC stressed the importance of cooperation between the two parties in the service of greater research and development achievements.

Under the agreement, Kuwait University is expected to support decision making in KOC and concentrate on intellectual property protection.

The University’s President, Hussein Al-Ansari, confirmed that the agreement covers research cooperation in light of the great challenges facing the oil sector imposed by the changes in technology and the need to improve production and refining.
