Jordan Signed New Petroleum Agreements

On the Sidelines of the third Jordan International Energy Summit, Jordan signed 7 new energy agreements and memorandum of understanding (MoUs), reported Jordan News Agency (PETRA).

Among the deals was the signing of MoU between the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ibrahim Seif, and the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla. The MoU stats that Egypt will provide expertise in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) field to Jordan, reported Al Ahram Newspaper.

The Agreements further included the signing of a contract between Manaseer Company for Iron and Steel’s General Manager, Mohamamd Kharabsheh, and Fajr Company’s Chairman, Fouad Rashad, to set up a point to supply gas. Kharabsheh also signed a deal with General Manager of Egypt Gas Company, Mohamed Ibrahim. The agreement was meant to execute and manage a new point of order to provide natural gas.

Additionally, Jordan signed solar contract that was signed by Minister Seif and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EAS Company, Muftur Ramadan in order to establish a solar energy power plant with 50 MW capacity.

Moreover, the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO)’s General Manager Abdel Fattah Daradkeh and CEO of Lafarge Jordan, Amr Reda, signed an agreement to connect a solar power plant with capacity 17 MW that is locted in Al-Rashadiya area
