A delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has visited the site of the practical training center affiliated with the Energy Transition Center, which is planned to be established at the Egyptian Petrochemical Company’s site in Alexandria. .
The visit comes in light of the Petroleum sector’s energy transition strategy and within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to complete the second phase of the Energy Transition Center of Excellence (CoE) project affiliated with the petroleum sector
The visit was attended by Ahmed Mowakea, Chairman of the Egyptian Petrochemical Company, and Alaa Hagar, Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Technical Office.
Mowakea has reviewed the company’s activities and its available facilities that will be utilized for implementing the technical training center.
JICA officials alongside the (CoE) team have reviewed the activities to be enforced through the center.
Hagar indicated that the start would be by the energy efficiency activities as a first phase at the technical training center, with the remaining activities to be introduced gradually.
He also stressed the importance of establishing a partnership between the Energy Transition Center for the Petroleum Sector and other international agencies to ensure the transfer of expertise and the introduction of the latest services.
JICA officials and the CoE project team praised the advanced facilities of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Company and their confidence in establishing a training center that keeps pace with the best global standards in the field of energy transition.
