Petroleum minister Tarek El Molla discussed Toyota’s contribution to the Suez refining and petrochemical complex and the Assiut mazut refinery with the Japanese ambassador to Cairo, Takehiro Kagawa, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

They also discussed the Japanese multinational’s potential contribution to the expansion of the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO).

Kagawa expressed his country’s willingness to contribute to the Egyptian oil sector, praising the ministry’s modernization program.

Regarding the upstream sector, El Molla encouraged Japanese companies to submit bids for the two exploration and production (E&P) tenders whose application deadline is in October.
