The Italian Ambassador, Gampolo Cantini, noted the promising nature of Egypt’s oil and gas production during a meeting with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

Cantini and El Molla met to discuss Italian investments in the Egyptian energy sector and to explore ways to bolster the partnership between the two countries.

They discussed current energy projects being carried out by Italian companies in Egypt, including Eni’s development of Zohr, Edison’s work at Abu Qir, and Technip’s execution of the Middle East Oil Refinery (MIDOR) expansion project.

El Molla noted that Egypt’s new gas law will assist it in attracting additional investments.
