Iraq’s IDC, Schlumberger Sign Contract to Drill 37 Oil Wells in Al-Basra

The Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC) has signed a contract with Schlumberger to drill 37 oil wells in Al-Zubair field operated by Italian energy firm Eni in Al-Basra, a press release issued by the Iraqi Oil Ministry announced.

The Head of IDC Bassem Abdel Karim said that the drilling operations will be conducted by the operation of IDC 37 and IDC 38 rigs and it will target reservoirs of El-Mashraf, Bin Omar River, and Zubair.

He added that these drilling projects will increase the production capacity of Zubair field. Abdel Karim indicated that this project demonstrates a successful partnership with Eni, which achieved great success.
