The Iraqi Ministry of Oil is planning to re-operate North refinery and increase its production capacity to 150,000 barrels per day (b/d), a press release reported.
Deputy Minister for Refining Operations Hamed Younis affirmed that ministry is keen on accelerating the implementation of this project and resuming the full production capacity. He added that a lot of mechanisms and programs have been researched for that purpose.
Younis mentioned that the ministry managed to rehabilitate and operate Salah El Din Refineries 1, 2 and the outside refineries affiliated to North Refineries company. He noted that the ministry is currently adding units in order to increase and development the production.
