The Iraqi Ministry of Oil confirmed its commitment to the decision of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) as well as its allies to increase oil production, Iraq News Agency (INA) reported.
The ministry’s spokesman, Assem Jihad, told INA, that “Iraq is within the agreement of the OPEC + countries, and is included in the schedule of production increases that are distributed to all countries.”
Jihad added, “We are committed to the decision of the OPEC + countries that monitor the oil market and set a schedule for increases whenever the oil market sees the need to pump more oil.”
He noted that Iraq has participated in the latest increase with 400,000 barrels which were divided among the countries based on proportions.
